Ripping Grass

It’s peak grass growing season right now and the cows are fat and happy. Every day we move them to fresh pastures and they get to eat the most nutritious part of the grass – the top 3 inches or so of the exploding brome, timothy, quack, orchard, and kentucky blue grasses. Because we move the cows everyday, each paddock gets at least a month to recover that growth. We’re going through our second rotation of the season right now.  Here are the cows walking into a new paddock, wasting no time getting down to business. Ripping grass is the sound of happy cows.
